VENTURA, Calif. — The Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. (BTR) Flat Track program held the third race of the 2024 season at Ventura Raceway. The racers were eager to build on their strong performances immediately after the last Fort Worth, Texas, race. With clear skies, the scene was set for a gripping day of racing in California and the BTR riders were certainly up to the challenge.
In a tight battle, Kenzie Luker edged out Shasta L’Heureux by just 1.2 seconds to claim victory. The win marked Luker’s third in four races this season. Mya Maffei came home in 3rd place for her fourth trip to the podium this season. Outside of the final standings, all the riders displayed marked growth from last week’s race in Fort Worth, including Mikaela Nichols-Lionetti who earned a best lap of 14.933 seconds during the race.

“Everyone was definitely eager to build on the momentum of last week’s race to show how they improved. This was yet again a different size and texture track for our riders. BTR was at Ventura in 2023, but this was actually a completely different prepped track in comparison to last year,” said Adrian Sellers, Head – Custom & Motorsport at Royal Enfield. “It was essentially an equal playing field because returning racers had to also start over with a clean slate for everything from gearing to riding lines and more. It was awesome to watch some of last year’s riders come back with a new perspective this time around.”
Now in its fifth season, Royal Enfield’s Build. Train. Race. program is the first of its kind– an all-woman initiative that teaches building and racing motorcycles. The program format brings riders together from various backgrounds to compete in different track events, uniquely highlighting women and motorcycle culture in North America.
The next Flat Track race will take place at the Black Hills Speedway on August 6 in Rapid City, SD. BTR’s Road Racing events are scheduled for May 19 at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama, June 2 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, June 30 at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Washington, and August 18 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
